Environmental Scans

New! South Central Region
The South Central COE has completed an environmental scan of energy efficiency occupations showing that as many as 2,300 jobs will be added over the next three years.

Energy Efficiency Occupations: Los Angeles
(pdf) Based on a 2009 survey of Los Angeles Area firms, employers are projected to add over 6,500 new jobs over the next three years in eight energy efficiency occupations.

Orange County Region
Energy Efficiency Occupations: Orange County
(pdf) The Orange County COE conducted a survey of firms who employ energy efficiency workers and found that as many as 3,130 new jobs could be added in the next three years.

Inland Empire Region
Energy Efficiency Occupations: Inland Empire (pdf) Based on a 2009 survey of Inland Empire firms as many as 3,030 new jobs will be added over the next three years in eight energy efficiency occupations.

Central Valley Region
Energy Efficiency Occupations: Central Valley Region (pdf) The Central Valley COE has completed an environmental scan of eight energy efficiency occupations, including combined employment data for Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Tulare and Tuolumne counties.

Northern Inland and Northern Coastal Regions
The Northern California COE conducted a survey in the Northern Inland and Northern Coastal regions and found that employers could add as many as 460 and 360 jobs, respectively, in energy efficiency occupations over the next three years.

San Diego-Imperial Region
Energy Efficiency Occupations: San Diego-Imperial Region
(pdf) The San Diego-Imperial Region COE conducted a study of eight energy efficiency occupations in San Diego and Imperial counties and found that employers could add as many as 2,600 new jobs regionally over the next three years.

Greater Sacramento Region
Energy Efficiency Occupations: Greater Sacramento Region
(pdf) The Northern California COE conducted a survey of Greater Sacramento Region firms who employ energy efficiency workers and found that as many as 3,530 new jobs could be added in the next three years.

San Francisco Bay & Greater Silicon Valley Regions
Energy Efficiency Occupations: Bay Region (pdf)
In 2009, the San Francisco Bay and Greater Silicon Valley COE studied eight energy efficiency occupations that are most relevant to community colleges. Employers are projected to add as many as 13,000 new jobs over the next three years in this cluster of occupations.
